Here are a few things that I realized I took for granted before coming to France:
Things I take for granted in the United States
1. My car (I am sort of immobile without a car in this small village)
2. Screens in windows (big Broceliande bugs are kind of annoying, French people need screens!)
3. A normal shower with a fixed head (Okay, at first, the handheld shower head was cute and all, but I just want to shampoo with both hands without having to put the shower head down…IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?
4. Central heating (not liking this water heater thing…)
5. Walmart (I miss Walmart prices!)
6. Driers (I like to dry my clothes in a dryer…my jeans get all hard when I let them out to air dry L)
7. Dish washers (Washing dishes is a never ending task)
8. Carpeting (floors are cold here)
9. The hours of stores…people work on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday in the US (I just want SOMETHING to be open on Monday!)
10. Wifi (I love wifi! I miss it! Come back to me, wifi!)
